The economic concepts taught in this lesson, opportunity cost and savings goals, are well written and appropriate for third graders. The excellent picture book, “The Pickle Patch Bathtub”, these lessons are based on can also be used to teach the seasons of the year to kindergarten students, productive resources to second graders, the growing cycle in a fourth grade science class, and primary and secondary resources to sixth graders.
